We welcome another new artist to our digital roster this time with Wataru Abe being in the spotlight. Wataru is a versatile musician and composer from Tokyo, Japan. He has a rich musical background having studied classic to jazz music theories at Berklee College of Music, and bunch of sound programming including MAX/MSP. As a solo artist, he focuses on generating sounds from mathematic algorithms such as life automata, strange attractors, and modifying them to physically perceivable beat.

This release is not for the faint hearted; only the bravest will see the beauty in the mechanical madness and industrial havoc. A true challenge to ones perception of sound, noise and silence. We typically like the minal side of the musical spectrum but when we do contrast this is what we do. Stacked with a total of 5 tracks this EP will grab your attention one way or another, which one is down to you.

If you're looking for a friendly way into the Opal Tapes catalogue I'm afraid there isn't one. However, this is a great (and very decently priced) introduction to the distinct sound this label has made its own with some fantastic slices of techno. AJ.
